Definition of Commitment-Related Terms
Detailed explanation of commitment-related terms used within the Y-Cucumber App.
Booking accepted: Within 24 hours after a booking was made by the client, the service provider can negotiate or clarify the terms of service via electronic communication in the chatroom. In the given 24 hours, if the service provider did not initiate any actions to cancel the session, it will be considered accepted by default, and the time slot will be reserved for the client.
Session confirmed: Up until 48 hours before the session was meant to start, the client confirmed with the service provider that the session is valid.
Confirmation by default: If a session is booked within less than 48 hours before session starts, it will be considered a session “confirmed by default”. Hence, there will not be a confirmation period. However, the service provider can still choose to decline, (especially in cases when preparation time is insufficient to realise the session) and this will not be considered a commitment error.
Decline booking: When a booking was made within less than 48 hours before session starts, if the service provider decides that the session is unrealistic to be fulfilled, the service provider can choose to decline the booking without affecting the colour rating. Another circumstance which will allow a booking to be declined by the service provider without affecting the colour rating is within 24 hours after a booking was made by the client before the confirmation period.
Punctual: Arrival at the location of session at least 5 mins before the start of booked time-slot. For example, if the booked time-slot is meant to start at 1pm, it is expected that the user arrives at the location at 12:55pm.
Late: Arrival at the location of session within 15 minutes after the start of the session. For example, if the booked time-slot is meant to start at 1pm, arrival at the location of session after 1pm up until before 1:15pm is considered late arrival.
No show: When user is absent for session despite having the session confirmed, or when the user arrives at the location of session 16 minutes or later after session was meant to start. For example, if the booked time-slot is 1pm but the user arrives at 1:16pm or later, this will still be considered “no show”.
